Calabash medicine

Love baths a man
when he can’t lift a pail
It strengthens his course
Shift grounds beneath his feet
Hurts when there is no cure
Like a donkey led to slaughter
He follows it still
No impediment, no wave
could rock him out of this boat
It drips from every crack
and pore in both worlds of his brain
When it’s weight doubles
He has a handful of molds
